Sulaiman: Journal of Leadership (SJL) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, security, and continued accessibility of all scholarly content published by the journal. The journal recognizes digital preservation as an essential component of responsible scholarly publishing and maintains an archiving policy designed to protect the academic record against accidental loss, technical failure, discontinuation of the journal platform, or other circumstances that may affect access to published content.
SJL preserves its published articles and associated bibliographic metadata through digital archiving and preservation systems. The journal's archival arrangements are intended to ensure that published scholarly content remains available to readers and researchers over the long term, even if the journal's website or publishing platform becomes temporarily unavailable or undergoes technical changes.
All published content, including article files, metadata, abstracts, publication information, and post-publication notices, is retained as part of the journal's digital scholarly record.
SJL supports long-term digital preservation through CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe). CLOCKSS provides distributed preservation of scholarly publications through a network of participating archival institutions. This approach helps ensure that journal content can remain preserved and accessible in the event that the original publishing platform is no longer available.
Where applicable, archived content preserved through CLOCKSS may be made available through the CLOCKSS archive in accordance with its preservation and access policies.
SJL also supports digital preservation through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a preservation service developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) for journals using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.
The PKP Preservation Network is intended to preserve published journal content and associated metadata, providing an additional layer of protection for the journal's scholarly record and supporting long-term accessibility.
Once an article has been formally published, it becomes part of the permanent scholarly record of SJL. Published articles will not normally be removed solely because of changes to the journal's website, editorial management system, or publishing platform.
In cases where an article requires a post-publication correction or retraction, the original publication record will be retained whenever possible. Corrections, retractions, and other relevant notices will be clearly linked to the affected article to maintain transparency and the integrity of the scholarly record.
If SJL changes its publishing platform, website, domain, or journal management system, reasonable measures will be taken to migrate previously published content and associated metadata to the new platform. The journal will seek to maintain continuity of article identification, citation information, volume and issue records, publication dates, and other essential bibliographic metadata.
Through the use of digital preservation mechanisms, including CLOCKSS and the PKP Preservation Network, SJL seeks to ensure that its scholarly publications remain securely preserved, discoverable, and accessible to the academic community for the long term.
The journal may adopt additional recognized digital preservation services or repositories in the future to strengthen the preservation, redundancy, and accessibility of its published scholarly content.
