Sulaiman: Journal of Leadership implements a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of all manuscripts submitted to the journal. In this process, both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other throughout the review process.
All submitted manuscripts are first evaluated by the editorial team to determine whether the submission fits the focus and scope of the journal and complies with the journal’s submission guidelines. At this stage, manuscripts may also be checked for similarity or plagiarism using plagiarism detection software.
Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s standards or fall outside the scope of the journal may be rejected at this stage without being sent for external review.
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who have expertise in the relevant field. The reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on several criteria, including:
Originality and novelty of the research
Relevance to the journal’s focus and scope
Methodological rigor and validity
Contribution to leadership studies
Clarity of analysis and discussion
Quality of academic writing and references
Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations to the editor.
Based on the reviewers’ evaluation, the editorial team may make one of the following decisions:
Accept without revisions
Accept with minor revisions
Major revisions required
Reject the manuscript
If revisions are required, the authors will be asked to revise the manuscript according to the reviewers’ comments and suggestions. The revised manuscript may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation if necessary.
The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of a manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief of Sulaiman: Journal of Leadership based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the quality of the revised manuscript.
Sulaiman: Journal of Leadership aims to complete the peer review process within 4–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the extent of revisions required.
Accepted manuscripts will proceed to the stages of copyediting, layout editing, and proofreading before being published in Sulaiman: Journal of Leadership.
