Correction and Retraction

RIBAB: Review of Islamic Business Arbitration is committed to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the scholarly record. When errors or ethical issues are identified in published articles, the journal will take appropriate actions, including corrections, clarifications, expressions of concern, or retractions, in accordance with international publishing standards and the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Corrections (Erratum and Corrigendum)

Corrections may be issued when minor errors are identified in a published article that do not affect the overall results, conclusions, or scientific integrity of the work.

Types of corrections include:

  • Erratum: issued when the error originates from the journal or publisher during the production process.

  • Corrigendum: issued when the error originates from the author.

Corrections will be published as a separate notice and will be linked to the original article to ensure transparency and accuracy in the academic record.

Retraction

A retraction may be issued if a published article is found to contain serious problems that invalidate its findings or violate ethical publishing standards.

Retraction may occur in the following circumstances:

  • Evidence of plagiarism

  • Data fabrication or falsification

  • Duplicate publication or redundant publication

  • Serious methodological errors that invalidate the conclusions

  • Unethical research practices

  • Failure to disclose significant conflicts of interest that may affect the interpretation of the research

When an article is retracted, the retraction notice will clearly state the reasons for the retraction and will remain permanently linked to the original article.

The retracted article will remain available online for the sake of the scholarly record but will be clearly marked as “Retracted” to inform readers.

Expression of Concern

In situations where there are serious concerns about a published article but the investigation is still ongoing, the journal may issue an Expression of Concern to alert readers while further investigation is conducted.

Editorial Responsibility

The decision to issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions will be made by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the editorial board and, when necessary, the authors and their affiliated institutions.

The journal is committed to handling all cases of publication ethics issues fairly, transparently, and in accordance with COPE guidelines.
