Publication Ethics Statement

RIBAB: Review of Islamic Business Arbitration is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal adheres to the ethical guidelines and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability in scholarly publishing.

All parties involved in the publication process — including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher — are expected to follow these ethical standards.

Duties of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to RIBAB must ensure that:

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must submit original work that has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Plagiarism in any form, including copying, paraphrasing without proper citation, or claiming another person’s work as one’s own, constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Authors should not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal. Submitting the same research to multiple journals concurrently is considered unethical publishing behavior.

Authorship of the Manuscript

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors, while others who contributed to certain aspects of the research should be acknowledged appropriately.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the interpretation of their research results. All sources of financial support for the research should be clearly acknowledged.

Data Access and Retention

Authors may be asked to provide the raw data related to their manuscript for editorial review and should be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable period after publication.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works

When authors discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, it is their responsibility to promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate with the editor to correct or retract the article.

Duties of Editors

Editors of RIBAB are responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of the journal.

Publication Decisions

The editor-in-chief and editorial board are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published. Decisions are based on the importance, originality, clarity, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal’s focus and scope.

Fair Play

Editors evaluate manuscripts based on their academic merit without discrimination regarding race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.

Confidentiality

Editors must ensure that information regarding submitted manuscripts is kept confidential and only shared with the corresponding author, reviewers, and editorial staff as appropriate.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Editors must not use unpublished materials disclosed in submitted manuscripts for their own research without the author’s explicit written consent.

Duties of Reviewers

Peer reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and improving the quality of manuscripts.

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer review helps the editor make editorial decisions and may assist authors in improving their manuscripts through constructive feedback.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

Standards of Objectivity

Reviews should be conducted objectively and constructively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and notify the editor of any substantial similarity between the manuscript and other published works.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest

Reviewers should decline to review manuscripts if they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with the authors or institutions involved.

Duties of the Publisher

The publisher of RIBAB is committed to supporting the editorial board in maintaining the integrity of the academic record. The publisher ensures that editorial decisions remain independent and are not influenced by commercial or institutional interests.

Plagiarism and Misconduct Policy

All manuscripts submitted to RIBAB are screened using plagiarism detection software. Any form of academic misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and duplicate publication, will be handled seriously.

If misconduct is detected, the editorial board will take appropriate actions, including:

  • Immediate rejection of the manuscript

  • Request for revision or clarification

  • Retraction of the published article

  • Notification to the authors’ institutions if necessary

Retraction and Correction Policy

RIBAB may publish corrections, clarifications, expressions of concern, or retractions when necessary to maintain the integrity of the academic record.

Retraction may occur in cases where:

  • There is clear evidence that findings are unreliable due to misconduct or honest error

  • The article contains plagiarism

  • The article has been previously published elsewhere without proper acknowledgment

  • Ethical standards in research or publication have been violated

Ethical Oversight

RIBAB supports ethical research practices and encourages transparency in research reporting. Any allegations of misconduct will be investigated carefully in accordance with established ethical guidelines.
