About the Journal
Review of Islamic Business Arbitration (RIBAB) is an international peer-reviewed and open-access journal dedicated to the advancement of scholarly research in Islamic business arbitration, Islamic commercial law, dispute resolution, Islamic finance, and alternative dispute resolution. The journal provides an academic platform for researchers, academics, legal practitioners, policymakers, and other scholars to examine the development of dispute settlement mechanisms within Islamic legal and commercial contexts.
RIBAB publishes scholarly works that address theoretical, normative, empirical, comparative, and practical dimensions of arbitration and dispute resolution in Islamic business activities. The journal is particularly interested in studies that examine the relationship between Sharia principles, Islamic commercial law, arbitration frameworks, Islamic finance, international business transactions, and contemporary dispute resolution practices.
The journal welcomes original research articles, conceptual papers, comparative studies, case studies, and other scholarly contributions that provide significant theoretical or practical insights into Islamic business arbitration. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to, Islamic commercial arbitration, Sharia-based dispute resolution, mediation, arbitration institutions, Islamic financial disputes, Sharia governance, international commercial arbitration, cross-border Islamic business transactions, fintech-related disputes, online dispute resolution, digital transformation in arbitration, artificial intelligence in dispute resolution, and emerging challenges in Islamic commercial law.
RIBAB encourages interdisciplinary and international scholarship that connects Islamic legal studies with commercial law, arbitration and dispute resolution studies, Islamic finance, economics, technology, and international business law. Comparative and cross-jurisdictional studies are particularly encouraged when they contribute to a deeper understanding of the development and harmonization of Islamic business dispute resolution practices in different legal and institutional environments.
The journal is committed to promoting scholarly discussion on how arbitration and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms can respond to the changing nature of Islamic economic and commercial activities. Particular attention is given to research that explores the implications of digitalization, globalization, financial innovation, emerging technologies, and evolving regulatory frameworks for Sharia-compliant dispute resolution.
RIBAB applies a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, academic integrity, and relevance of published manuscripts. Each submission is evaluated by qualified reviewers with relevant expertise in accordance with the journal's editorial and ethical standards.
RIBAB is published twice a year, in May and November, and adopts an open-access publishing model to facilitate broad dissemination and accessibility of scholarly knowledge. The journal seeks to contribute to the development of effective, ethical, and internationally relevant mechanisms for resolving disputes arising from Islamic business and commercial activities.
