Withdrawal of Manuscript

TORIQIYAH: Journal of Educational Approaches is committed to maintaining ethical standards and transparency in the publication process. Authors may request the withdrawal of a manuscript under certain circumstances; however, withdrawal must follow the journal’s policies and procedures.

1. Withdrawal Before Peer Review

Authors may request the withdrawal of their manuscript before the peer-review process begins by submitting a formal written request to the editorial office.

The request must include:

  • The manuscript title

  • The names of all authors

  • The reason for the withdrawal

Once the editorial office confirms that the manuscript has not entered the peer-review process, the withdrawal request will be processed.

2. Withdrawal During Peer Review

If a manuscript has already entered the peer-review process, authors are strongly discouraged from withdrawing the submission. Withdrawal requests at this stage must be accompanied by a clear and valid reason.

The editorial board will review the request and determine whether the withdrawal is justified.

3. Withdrawal After Acceptance

Withdrawal of manuscripts after acceptance is considered unethical unless there are serious and unavoidable circumstances. In such cases, authors must submit a formal request explaining the reasons for withdrawal.

The final decision will be made by the Editor-in-Chief.

4. Unethical Withdrawal

Unethical withdrawal occurs when authors withdraw their manuscript after it has undergone peer review or has been accepted for publication without a valid reason, particularly if the manuscript is submitted to another journal simultaneously.

In such cases, the journal reserves the right to:

  • Reject the manuscript submission

  • Refuse future submissions from the authors

  • Notify the authors’ affiliated institutions if necessary

5. Post-Publication Withdrawal

Once an article has been officially published, it cannot be withdrawn. If serious issues are identified after publication, the journal may issue a correction, retraction, or expression of concern in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics and the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
