Blended Learning Implementation For Strengthening Student Centered Learning In The Digital Era

Abstract

The transformation of education in the digital era encourages learning models that place students as active participants in knowledge construction. Blended learning emerges as a strategic approach that integrates face to face instruction with digital learning environments to support flexible and meaningful learning experiences. This study examines how blended learning contributes to the strengthening of student centered learning practices in contemporary educational settings. A qualitative descriptive approach was applied through classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of learning documents in a secondary education institution. The findings indicate that blended learning creates learning environments that promote autonomy, collaboration, and critical thinking. Digital platforms enable students to access learning materials independently, while classroom interaction supports discussion, reflection, and feedback. The integration of online and offline learning also encourages teachers to shift their roles from knowledge transmitters to learning facilitators. Students demonstrate higher engagement, improved learning responsibility, and greater participation in collaborative tasks. Blended learning also supports differentiated learning pathways that accommodate diverse learning styles. The study concludes that blended learning serves as an effective pedagogical strategy to reinforce student centered learning in the digital era when supported by appropriate instructional design and digital literacy competence.
