Higher education institutions face continuous pressure to respond to rapid technological change, global competition, and evolving societal expectations. Leadership plays a central role in shaping the institutional capacity to innovate within such dynamic environments. This study explores how transformative educational leadership contributes to the strengthening of institutional innovation in higher education. The research adopts a qualitative approach through literature-based analysis of contemporary scholarship on educational leadership and innovation management in universities. The analysis identifies several key dimensions of transformative leadership that support institutional innovation, including vision-driven governance, collaborative academic culture, empowerment of faculty and staff, and the strategic integration of digital technologies. Findings indicate that leaders who promote participatory decision making and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration create an ecosystem that nurtures creativity, experimentation, and knowledge production. Institutional innovation emerges not only from technological adoption but also from cultural transformation within the organization. The study highlights that transformative leadership enables universities to adapt to complex challenges while maintaining academic integrity and social responsibility. The results contribute to a conceptual understanding of how leadership practices influence innovation capacity in higher education institutions.
