Uswah: Journal of Sustainable Development Goals in Education

USWAH: Journal of Sustainable Development Goals in Education is proud to present its inaugural issue, Volume 1, Number 1, March 2026. This first publication marks a significant step in promoting scholarly dialogue and research on the integration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within educational contexts at a global level. This issue brings together contributions from five countries—Indonesia, South Africa, Slovenia, Albania, and Slovakia—representing collaboration among seven higher education institutions: STAI KH. Muhammad Ali Shodiq Tulungagung, Universitas Islam Negeri Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, UNUGIRI Bojonegoro, Rhodes University (South Africa), University of Maribor (Slovenia), University of Shkodra “Luigj Gurakuqi” (Albania), and University of Prešov (Slovakia). This diversity reflects the journal’s commitment to fostering international collaboration, cross-cultural perspectives, and interdisciplinary research in advancing sustainable education. The inaugural issue highlights innovative and relevant topics related to sustainability in education, particularly focusing on the integration of technology, environmental awareness, and global citizenship. The articles emphasize the importance of equipping learners with competencies that support sustainable development in an increasingly complex and digitalized world. The issue features five selected articles: Artificial Intelligence In Education For Strengthening Sustainability Literacy Among Students, Digital Citizenship Education To Support Sustainable Development Competencies In The Era Of Artificial Intelligence, Transformative Learning For Climate Change Awareness In Sustainable Education, Project Based Learning To Develop Global Citizenship And Sustainable Thinking Among Students, and Green School Practices To Strengthen Environmental Awareness And Sustainable Behavior In Education. Collectively, these contributions offer valuable insights into how educational practices can be transformed to align with SDGs, promoting not only academic excellence but also environmental responsibility, social awareness, and ethical engagement. Through this inaugural publication, USWAH reaffirms its commitment to becoming a global platform for high-quality research that bridges education and sustainable development.
