Author Guidelines

The International Journal of Islamic Religious Education (IJIRE) welcomes original and high-quality manuscripts related to Islamic religious education within global contexts. Authors are required to follow the journal’s guidelines to ensure a smooth submission, review, and publication process.

1. Language

  • All manuscripts must be written exclusively in English (United Nations standard).

  • Authors are encouraged to ensure clarity, accuracy, and academic style.

2. Types of Manuscripts

IJIRE accepts the following types of submissions:

  • Original Research Articles – empirical or theoretical studies.

  • Systematic Literature Reviews – comprehensive analyses of related research.

  • Conceptual Papers – theoretical contributions and discussions.

  • Book Reviews (optional, based on editorial request).

3. Manuscript Structure

Authors must organize their manuscripts using the following structure:

  1. Title

    • Concise, informative, and limited to 15 words.

  2. Abstract

    • Written in English, 200–250 words, summarizing objectives, methods, findings, and implications.

    • Include 4–6 keywords.

  3. Introduction

    • Provide context, research problems, objectives, and the study’s significance.

  4. Methodology

    • Clearly describe research design, participants, instruments, and data analysis.

  5. Results and Discussion

    • Present findings, supported by tables, figures, and citations.

  6. Conclusion

    • Summarize key findings and provide implications or recommendations.

  7. Acknowledgments (optional)

  8. References

    • Must follow the APA 7th Edition referencing style.

4. Formatting Guidelines

  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.docx).

  • Length: 6,000 – 8,000 words including references.

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt.

  • Spacing: 1.5 line spacing.

  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.

  • Headings: Use a clear hierarchical format (APA style).

  • Tables and Figures:

    • Include titles and captions.

    • Insert them within the text, not as separate files.

    • Number sequentially (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).

  • IJIRE applies a double-blind peer review to ensure fairness and academic rigor.

  • Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers.

  • Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback.

7. Plagiarism Policy

  • All manuscripts are checked using Turnitin or iThenticate.

  • A maximum similarity index of 20% is allowed.

  • Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned for revision or rejected.

9. Open Access Policy

IJIRE is an open-access journal. All articles are freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing readers to read, share, and reproduce articles with proper citation.

10. Article Processing Charge (APC)

  • Free of Charge: IJIRE does not charge any fees for submission, processing, review, or publication.
