Withdrawal of Manuscript
The International Journal of Islamic Religious Education (IJIRE) strongly discourages unethical withdrawal of manuscripts after submission. Authors are advised to carefully consider their decision before submitting their work to the journal.
Once a manuscript is submitted to IJIRE, it enters the official editorial and peer-review workflow. Therefore, withdrawal requests are only accepted under valid and ethical reasons and must follow the procedures below:
1. Acceptable Reasons for Withdrawal
Authors may request manuscript withdrawal only under the following circumstances:
-
The manuscript contains critical errors that affect the validity of the study.
-
The data presented are inaccurate or have been found invalid.
-
Authors decide to substantially revise the manuscript before resubmission.
-
Ethical conflicts arise, such as duplicate submission discovered after initial submission.
2. Procedure for Withdrawal
To request withdrawal, authors must:
-
Submit a formal withdrawal request by email to the editorial office at editorijireeduglobal@gmail.com.
-
The request must:
-
Be signed by all co-authors.
-
Include the manuscript title, ID number, and submission date.
-
Clearly state the reason for withdrawal.
-
-
The editorial board will review the request and respond within 7 working days.
3. Withdrawal After Peer Review
If a manuscript is withdrawn after it has entered the peer-review process, the following apply:
-
The request must include a valid justification.
-
Authors may be required to reimburse any costs incurred during the review process.
-
Repeated withdrawal without valid reasons may lead to blacklisting of the author(s) from future submissions.
4. Withdrawal After Acceptance
Withdrawal after acceptance but before publication is strongly discouraged. Authors requesting withdrawal at this stage must:
-
Provide a formal explanation.
-
Acknowledge that the journal reserves the right to report the incident to the authors’ affiliated institutions.
5. Withdrawal After Publication
Once an article is published, withdrawal is not permitted.
If significant ethical issues are discovered, IJIRE will instead retract the article following the journal’s retraction policy and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
6. Ethical Considerations
Unethical manuscript withdrawal practices — such as submitting to multiple journals simultaneously or withdrawing without valid reasons — are considered violations of academic publishing ethics. IJIRE reserves the right to:
-
Blacklist the author(s) for future submissions.
-
Inform the authors’ affiliated institutions.
-
Take appropriate measures to maintain academic integrity.
